To our dear friends and loyal customers:

We regret to announce we will be closing our doors July 15, 2011. It has been a struggle the past few years to remain viable in this difficult economy. Over the years we have entertained offers of moving our manufacturing overseas or south of the border. We politely refused. Perhaps, had we done so, we might have had a longer run. We have no regrets, though. From our inception we resolved the Sting Shield would be an American product manufactured by American textile and apparel workers.

As we conclude our efforts in this endeavor we are happy to report the Sting Shield Insect Veil made a difference for many people living in areas infested with the AHB. The Sting Shield was quickly battle-hardened in the field by our customers. They testified to us that the veil proved to be a very convenient and effective tool for stinging insect rescue or for escape. This was repeatedly emphasized to us by those charged with providing public safety. Each and every year when the weather warmed, and AHB activity increased, we would receive unsolicited and kind words of encouragement and endorsement from police, firefighters, EMS first responders, physicians, and the general public. Simple, affordable, practical, effective were their words, not ours. The Sting Shield helped them save lives. Users of the Sting Shield were always our best promoters and advocates.

We wish to publicly thank and acknowledge all of the apparel manufacturing employees whose hard work and expertise contributed to our success. You consistently provided for us the highest quality of workmanship and service. You demonstrated to us every day that the American apparel-making workforce, when given the opportunity, were still very much alive and well. You exceeded our expectations and it was a real pleasure working with you.

Lastly, and most importantly, we sincerely thank all of you, our customers, for your patronage the past 20 years.
